Shanon Coxall-Jones

BApp.Sci. (Hum Biol), BTech, Msc, MOst
Shanon's first degree was a Bachelor of Technology (Optical Electronics). The second was a Masters in Physics, and his thesis was in mathematically modelling light diffusion in large-core fibre-optic cables.
His interest in Osteopathy started in the early 2000s with personal experience from rehabilitating martial arts injuries, but it wasn't until a decade later that he decided to take the plunge. He graduated in 2016 from the Unitec Masters programme, has been in full-time practice ever since then, and has never looked back!
Osteopathy was a natural fit for Shanon, given his keen interest in kinesthetics thanks in large part to his choice of hobbies. After learning the dance style of West Coast Swing while on his OE in 2008, he helped introduce the dance style to New Zealand and has been teaching and working in the community ever since then. He's retired from competition now, but is the chief judge at the New Zealand Open and has lost track of the number of people he's trained over the years. He also has a black belt in jujutsu, but sadly is no longer active in that sport.
Shanon has a very structurally oriented approach to osteopathy, with particular interests in lower back and neck rehabilitation, pinched nerves, and headaches. He's also friendly and approachable, excellent at explaining what has gone wrong and how to fix it, and if given the opportunity will talk about his dogs for hours.
